An experienced team on site

Available quickly, with no permanent hire. Our work comes down to four things.

Read plans and specifications

Mechanical documents are read through the eyes of those who have had to build them.

Detect early

Slippages in sequencing, coordination and delivery are caught before they become costly.

Speak the same language

A shared vocabulary with foremen, project managers and engineers.

Document

Short, factual, photo-documented reports, delivered within 24 business hours.

Services

Every engagement starts with a written proposal that sets out the scope, the deliverables and the frequency of visits.

Scope of work

Vigie Chantier is not an engineering firm and does not carry out any activity reserved under the Engineers Act. Our services are site coordination, monitoring and support services.

What we do

  • Observe, coordinate, document and recommend
  • Write factual, photo-documented reports
  • Follow open items until they are closed
  • Refer technical decisions to the professional they belong to

What we do not do

  • No certification of compliance of the work: it remains the responsibility of the engineer in charge of supervision
  • No engineering opinions, plans, specifications or calculations
  • No inspection of works within the meaning of the law
  • No direction of the contractor's personnel: the foreman keeps direction of the workers

On an engineering firm engagement, the engineer in charge defines the scope of the visits, receives the reports and issues the directives. On a contractor or project owner engagement, Vigie Chantier observes, coordinates, documents and recommends. On an overseas engagement, the professional rules of the host country apply: certificates and directives remain the responsibility of the authorized professionals on site.

Commitments

What you can count on.

Confidentiality

Plans, specifications, prices and site documents are never shared outside the engagement.

Conflicts of interest

Written declaration before every engagement. No engagement on a site where a company related to ARTHEB Inc. is bidding or performing work.
